Ping Pong, Southbank

How do you spend your Sunday's? Lazy Sumdays at Ping Pong is as good a way as any. Unlimited dim sum, brought fresh to your table as you order it. Well worth it at £22 for adults and £11 for kids, especially as mini-me ate a whole soft shell crab single handedly.

Mr A's Brasserie, Balham

Stumbled across Mr A's Brasserie in Balham purely by accident on a smoothie quest one morning and it's been one of my favourite breakfast spots ever since.

Friday 19 December 2014

Dip n Flip, Battersea

The Dip n Flip burger is a beef or lamb patty with roast beef, onions, pickles, cheese, ketchup and a side of gravy.! Yes, gravy! Who doesn't love gravy?!

Tuesday 16 December 2014

Brixton Village Grill, Brixton

Tiptoeing into Christmas lunch, dinner and drink territory... The first of many I'm sure. Brixton Village Grill, although a little nippy had a lovely atmosphere and huge portions of food priced very reasonably.

Sunday 30 November 2014

Bird, Shoreditch

Some of the crispiest chicken I've ever eaten, the cheese and onion waffles were ok but I would've preferred them to be plain.

Tuesday 25 November 2014

The Pudding Bar, Soho

Dessert for two times two with bubbles. Wasn't making the 'only one' mistake this time so doubled up on dessert with my Sweet Toothed Darling. The Pudding Bar is a pop up in Soho that only serves dessert so one of the desserts could technically be classed as a main right...?

Thursday 20 November 2014

Paul's, Chelsea

The description of this is Croissant, Pistachio and Frangipane Cream, crushed pistachios. It is heaven... The Croissant is crisp and light, the cream is soft and sweet and delicious and the nuts are crunchy. It is heaven on the tongue. And as always I only bought one. Sigh...

Tuesday 11 November 2014

The Fable, Holborn

Another day, another Lobster. This time with Steak! Whoop! Surfing and Turfing on a Tuesday...

Thursday 6 November 2014

Jam Tree, Clapham

Lobster with the Ladies! Pretty small Lobster portion, but you can't really go wrong with Lobster and Fries.

Tuesday 28 October 2014

Poulet Rouge, Balham

Oh my! I could've eaten these Dauphinoise Potatoes and Cauliflower Gratin as a complete meal without the fabulously crispy skinned rotisserie chicken, but it was a welcome addition. I chose to have both duck and chicken gravy, the duck won for me but the chicken was just as good.

Poulet Rouge is one of those local places that always gets it right.

Sunday 26 October 2014

Busaba, Westfield Stratford

They had no Duck!! They had no Duck! I didn't know what to do with myself... I actually considered leaving until the Calamari whispered to me,

Friday 24 October 2014

Bill's, Battersea

My steak with a grilled vegetable skewer, fries and a side of halloumi was pretty nice, I was quite disappointed with the kids meal and the huge plates with very little on them that everything was served on.

Tuesday 30 September 2014

Turtle Bay, Ealing

Yummy dinner at Turtle Bay, Ealing with mini-me and Mr Rumblings.

Caribbean food for the masses. Great decor and atmosphere and delicious reasonably priced food.

Thursday 17 April 2014

Dum Dum Doughnuts, Shoreditch

Stumbled upon Dum Dum's Doughnuts today and made my worst mistake of the year so far, by only buying ONE!!  I've passed Dum Dum's twice this week and each time it has had a Sold Out sign in the window... For good reason!!

Saturday 5 April 2014

Kerb, Southbank

Kerb was on the Southbank this weekend.
Food, drink, nice weather what more could you ask for?

Saturday 29 March 2014

Ms Cupcake, Brixton

One of the best tasting cookies i've ever had and it was Vegan. Ms Cupcake have the best Vegan baked goods and i'm not even Vegan.

Sunday 9 March 2014

Leilani Lounge, Battersea

Sunday Roast with the Ladies and the Little Ones. Surround by my favourite things... Food, Friends and Wine, I can't really complain. However it wasn't the best Roast i've ever had and they ran out of Lamb, which was even more annoying given that we were the only ones there. Nice atmosphere though and really helpful staff.

Friday 28 February 2014

All Bar One, Northcote Rd

A Birthday lunch date led us to All Bar One, which is a stone's throw from my house, but I have somehow never been to.  The sharing platter is really good, you have a choice of 3, 5 or 7 items.

Monday 24 February 2014

L'ETO Caffe, Soho

The BEST Caffe EVER!! Right next door to Hummingbird on Wardour St, I seriously have no idea how Hummingbird is still open with these guys as their competition.

Burger & Lobster, Soho

Three down, two to go.
3rd time at Burger and Lobster and the 3rd location. So far my favourite is St Pauls.
Lobster, Fries, Salad, Garlic Butter for lunch. Can't complain.

Thursday 20 February 2014

Baking, Shortbread

Love making shortbread as the results are almost immediate and my sweet tooth is very impatient.

30 minutes start to finish (if you don't chill dough in the fridge for 20 mins which I rarely do... See above re; impatience) add an extra 5 minutes if you like your mouth unburnt... On occasion in my excitement I forget that things straight out of the oven are HOT!!

Thursday 13 February 2014

Satay Bar, Brixton

Really only popped into Satay Bar for drinks, but the menu was so enticing that we opted for a few Satay Skewers. BBQ Prawn with a Mango Salsa and Chicken and Peanut. Peanut dip a little bit spicier than I had banked on, but the Mango Salsa was sweet and delicious so helped to balance it out.

Tuesday 11 February 2014

Gail's, Northcote Rd

Lamb and Pine nut sausage roll from Gail's for the breakfast win! Absolutely delicious!

Monday 10 February 2014

Bamboula, Brixton

A Caribbean lunch for £7 including drinks, you can't really go wrong can you? Or can you...? I jest. Bamboula in Brixton served up a pretty decent lunch. I've actually been here before, it was almost a million years ago though and I think it was better then.

Thursday 6 February 2014

Banana Tree, Battersea

Tuesday after Ballet is "Date night with mini-me". Sometimes she chooses, sometimes I choose. We always stay local as the whole point is convenience, but it paid off for me this week when I was overcome with a migraine so bad I had to call for backup. Anyhooo... I digress.

Monday 3 February 2014

Breakfast, Home

Healthy brekkie of Yoghurt, Oat Granola, Banana and Blueberries. One of my fave homemade breakfasts.

Thursday 30 January 2014

Topolski, Southbank

Topolski, new to the Southbank, is a Berlin-esque style gallery/bar/restaurant situated under the Hungerford railway arch and draped in the striking works of Polish-born expressionist painter, Feliks Topolski.

Monday 27 January 2014

Jacks, Battersea

Perfect combo of Scrambled Eggs, Anerican pancake and Maple Syrup at Jacks. Always really chilled in there with great food and great service.

Wednesday 22 January 2014

Rinkoff, Whitechapel

CRODOUGH!!

The most amazing mouth-gasm of the year so far! A combo between a croissant and a doughnut. Ermmmm... Helloooo! Light and airy buttery pastry... Check! Sugary doughy pastry... Check! And then... To top it all off, or to centre it all off there was cinnamon flavoured apple inside! And toffee and crumble ON TOP!!

Sunday 19 January 2014

Lost Angel, Battersea

Sunday dinner with my Dirty Darlings!
Nice enough roast at The Lost Angel, wouldn't rank it among my Top 10 though. Loved the DIY Bloody Mary bar and the entertainment. Great singer who's name I unfortunately didn't get, who sang his own take on classics and current chart hits. Great accompaniment to an ok meal.
